The National Food and Nutrition Commission of Zambia is a statutory body established by Government through an Act of Parliament, Act No. 41 of 1967 under the Ministry of Health. It is a promotional and advisory organ to Government on matters concerning food and nutrition. Its aim is to improve the nutritional status of the people, with focus on vulnerable groups such as children, pregnant and nursing mothers.

The office of the NFNC is headed by the Executive Director, the Deputy Director and supported by professional and administrative staff, whose primary task is to implement decisions of the Commission.
