The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a German
federal enterprise which offers workable, sustainable and effective solutions and systems for
efficient service delivery. Most of GIZ’s work is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry
for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
To enhance the outreach of the project, GIZ together with its governmental (NFNC) and
implementing partners (CRS), aims to create a road show on nutrition and WASH. The road
show is accompanying the training activities of the project. Main topics of the trainings are: a
balanced diet and healthy nutrition, WASH, nutrition sensitive agriculture and the management
of household resources. While the trainings often have a negative connotation (e.g. your child
might get stunted if you don’t follow the trainings), the road show aims to connect nutrition and
WASH with encouraging experiences and create a positive environment for learning. With the
development of the roadshow, the project aims to improve the long-term knowledge transfer
and increase the awareness of the targeted population for the messages in the first three fields
of activities (Nutrition, WASH, nutrition sensitive agriculture).
Now GIZ, through its FANSER project seeks to engage a consultant from July 2021 to April
2022 to develop a concept for the roadshow. After the piloting of the concept in six selected
locations in Eastern (three locations) and Luapula (three locations) Province, the contractor
shall review and structure the lessons learned and create an implementation manual for a
mass roll out afterwards. It is envisioned, that all activities are conducted in close cooperation
with GIZ and the District Nutrition Coordinating Committees (DNCCs) as per following
• Development of a concept for the roadshow, incl. core messages and activities
• Piloting the roadshow in selected locations
• Organize the review of the implemented activities and develop lessons learned report
• Development of an implementation manual
