1. MATERNAL ADOLESCENT INFANT AND YOUNG CHILD NUTRITION

This program provides guidance and educational materials on optimal feeding practices for infants and young children. It promotes early initiation of breastfeeding, exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months, continued breastfeeding, and appropriate complementary feeding to improve child growth, nutrition, and overall health outcomes.

2. FORTIFICATION

This program highlights initiatives aimed at improving the nutritional quality of commonly consumed foods by adding essential vitamins and minerals. It provides information on food fortification standards, benefits, policies, and interventions that help prevent micronutrient deficiencies among vulnerable populations.

3. GROWTH MONITORING AND PROMOTION (GMP)

This program focuses on regularly assessing and tracking the growth and nutritional status of infants and young children to ensure healthy development. It involves measuring weight, height/length, and other growth indicators, interpreting growth patterns, and providing counseling to caregivers on appropriate feeding, health, and childcare practices. The program serves as an early warning system for identifying growth faltering and malnutrition, enabling timely interventions to promote optimal child growth and well-being.

4. INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT OF ACUTE MALNUTRITION (IMAM)

This program focuses on the prevention, early identification, and treatment of acute malnutrition among children and other vulnerable groups. It integrates community-based and facility-based approaches to manage both moderate and severe acute malnutrition. The program includes community screening, nutrition assessment, outpatient therapeutic care, supplementary feeding, inpatient management of complicated cases, and follow-up support. It aims to reduce illness, mortality, and the long-term effects associated with acute malnutrition.

5. MICRONUTRIENT SUPPLEMENTATION

This program focuses on preventing and controlling micronutrient deficiencies through the provision of essential vitamins and minerals to vulnerable populations. Key interventions include vitamin A supplementation, iron and folic acid supplementation, multiple micronutrient supplementation, zinc supplementation, and deworming where appropriate. The program contributes to improved immunity, healthy growth and development, reduced risk of anemia and other deficiency-related conditions, and improved overall nutritional status among children, adolescents, and women.

6. FOOD SYSTEMS

This program focuses on strengthening food systems to ensure the availability, accessibility, affordability, safety, and sustainability of nutritious foods for all populations. It promotes nutrition-sensitive approaches across food production, processing, storage, distribution, marketing, and consumption. The program supports sustainable agriculture, food diversification, climate-resilient food production, food safety, and healthy diets. It aims to improve food security, enhance diet quality, and contribute to better nutrition outcomes at household, community, and national levels.
